Diwali is a festival of lights and one of the most widely celebrated South Asian holidays.

After a wildly successful first year, Diwali comes back to Maplewood as a grand celebration of South Asian Arts and Cultural Festival. Free and open to the entire community, Diwali Fest NJ will be curated to offer a distinctive and authentic experience of South Asia that reflects the tremendous artistic and cultural diversity of the region.

Diwali Fest NJ takes places this Fall 2018 at:

The Woodland
60 Woodland Road, Maplewood NJ
October 28, 2018 between 12:30-6:30 pm

The festival will showcase the talent in our communities, featuring local South Asian American dancers, musicians, chefs, writers, and artists. Families will have the opportunity to participate in several hands-on workshops such as cooking, creating Indian folk art, and Bollywood dancing while sampling a variety of regional cuisines from local South Asian restaurants. Diwali Fest NJ will also feature an eclectic mix of jewelry, clothing, and handicraft vendors. More activities and fun cultural performances are being planned as we write this post. Stay tuned!!!

The festivities will conclude with the traditional lighting of lamps.
